What you need
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 cup yellow or red lentils, rinsed
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- ¼-½ teaspoon chilli powder
- 2 cups water
- 125g PHILADELPHIA Block Light Cream Cheese
- Coriander or mint, for garnish
- Pita toasts and pappadums, for serving
- Carrot sticks, for serving
How to make it
1. HEAT the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion for 3 minutes. Add the garlic, lentils, spices and water and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until lentils are tender.
2. STIR through the PHILLY until smooth then spoon into a serving bowl. Garnish with herbs and serve warm or chilled with pita toasts, pappadums and carrot sticks.
