What you need
12 thick beef sausages
2 tablespoons oil
2 large onions, thickly sliced
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons coriander
1½ teaspoons turmeric
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1-2 red chillies, thinly sliced
400ml can coconut milk
½ cup water
2 tablespoons kechap manis ( Indonesian soy sauce)
250g PHILADELPHIA Spreadable Cream Cheese
200g green beans, trimmed and steamed until just tender
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 cup coriander leaves
Steamed rice, for serving
How to make it
PLACE the sausages in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 -12 minutes or until the sausages are cooked. Drain and cool. Remove and discard skins from the sausages and cut into 1cm diagonal slices.
HEAT the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion for 4 -5 minutes or until softened. Add the spices, garlic and chilli and cook gently for a further 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the coconut milk, water, kechap manis and sausages, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
STIR through the PHILLY, beans and sugar and cook a further 2-3 minutes until well heated then toss through half the coriander. Spoon over the rice and garnish with remaining coriander leaves. Serve immediately.
