The Ultimate Curried Sausages PHILLY

What you need

  • 12 thick beef sausages
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 large onions, thickly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons coriander
  • 1½ teaspoons turmeric
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1-2 red chillies, thinly sliced
  • 400ml can coconut milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons kechap manis ( Indonesian soy sauce)
  • 250g PHILADELPHIA Spreadable Cream Cheese
  • 200g green beans, trimmed and steamed until just tender
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • Steamed rice, for serving

How to make it

  1. PLACE the sausages in a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 -12 minutes or until the sausages are cooked. Drain and cool. Remove and discard skins from the sausages and cut into 1cm diagonal slices.
  2. HEAT the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion for 4 -5 minutes or until softened. Add the spices, garlic and chilli and cook gently for a further 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in the coconut milk, water, kechap manis and sausages, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. STIR through the PHILLY, beans and sugar and cook a further 2-3 minutes until well heated then toss through half the coriander. Spoon over the rice and garnish with remaining coriander leaves. Serve immediately.
